I love this song with Iron & Wine (Sam Beam), the lyrics is amazingly beautiful, see below.
In our days we will live
Like our ghosts will live
Pitching glass at the cornfield crows
And folding clothes
Like stubborn boys across the road
We'll keep everything
Grandma's gun, and the black bear claw
That took her dog
And when sister Laurie says "Amen,"
We won't hear anything
The ten-car train will take that word
That fledgling bird
And the falling house across the way
It'll keep everything
The baby's breath, our bravery wasted
And our shame
And we'll undress beside the ashes of the fire
Both our tender bellies wound in bailing wire
All the more a pair of underwater pearls
Than the oak tree and its Resurrection Fern
In our days we will say
What our ghosts will say
We gave the world what it saw fit
And what'd we get?
Like stubborn boys with big green eyes
We'll see everything
In the timid shade of the autumn leaves
And the buzzard's wing
And we'll undress beside the ashes of the fire
Our tender bellies all wound around in bailing wire
All the more a pair of underwater pearls
Than the oak tree and its Resurrection Fern

Ok, so we've heard this single from The Decemberists a couple of times now. I actually like it more and more. Below, a live performance at Conan O'briens TV-show Conan along with Gillian Welch (who does the backup vocals on the song). Thumbs up to Conans beard by the way!
Band of Horses releases a music video for the song Dilly from Infinite Arms. The video is released exclusively on IMDb, the internet movie database. Watch it here:
Johan Brännström live at Klubb Springfield, image borrowed from Klubb Springfield
Recently, I've been amazed and impressed of the Swedish music scene. A week ago I saw I'm Kingfisher, and this weekend Johan Brännström made a appearence at Klubb Springfield. Johan has this charming attitude which makes you think of an Astrid Lindgren-character, Abbe from Madicken was the first to hit my mind, and with this and his amazing voice and energy, he made my night.
Johan Brännström recently released an EP, which you can listen to, and download, below.

William Elliott Whitmore. On Spotify, they describe his voice as a reincarnation of a gospel preacher from the 1920's and thats where my mind went too the first time I heard him. Love it.
I went to see Ed Harcourt yesterday at Debaser (Stockholm, Sweden). Along on the scandinavian tour Ed brought Thomas Denver Jonsson aka I'm Kingfisher. He did a great performance and you should definetly hear him out!
This year, Thomas released his 4th album Arctic, though it's his first album under the name I'm Kingfisher, is a conceptual album about polar exhibitions and arctic flora and fauna. It's a really beautiful story, and album, and Thomas voice can melt ice (hehe).
Time for a new Spotify-playlist. This week a playlist relating to this blog post about the projects of Justin Vernon. Beard makes better music 3 features: Justin Vernon (Volcano Choir (on the picture), Gayngs, Bon Iver, Anais Mitchell and Eau Claire Memorial Jazz I)
Sam Beam aka Iron & Wine will be playing in Stockholm in february next year, february will be a great month with both Iron & Wine and Band of Horses.
I am really looking forward to seeing and hopefully meeting Sam Beam, from what I've seen (on YouTube) and read he seems to be a really really charming, funny and loveable person.
Not the best recording I've seen, but it's a great song and I think it shows a bit of Sam Beams personality.
And here, a live version of one of the songs from Iron & Wines new album, being released in the beginning of next year if i remember it right. Sound so beautiful.
