Waiting for the spring flood of new beard music

Our bearded musical friends have been busy like bees during the end of last year and the nearest months appears to become nothing less than a huge spring flood of great new beard music. The Decemberists, Iron & Wine, Bright Eyes, The Low Anthem, The Cave Singers, Ducktails, Death Cab For Cutie, The Antlers and last but not least premium beard band Fleet Foxes are all releasing new albums within short. If you are as thrilled as we are and can't wait to hear what the new Fleet Foxes album will sound like we may just have the answer for you. The Decemberists goes on tour + free download

The Decemeberists releases their new album The King is Dead on the 18th of january, and shortly after, they go on an North American and European tour along with Wye Oak and Mountain Man. Check below for tour dates. Sadly, no gigs planned for Sweden (where I'm from).

The Decemberists - true storytellers

Music is almost always a form of storytelling but, to me, The Decemberists takes it to another level. Their songs are often a history told chronologically, like childrens books for grown-ups accompanied by music.

En platta som jag uppmanar er att köpa är Dark Was The Night (Red Hot Compilation), den finns förstås på Spotify men i just det här fallet så tycker jag att man kan avvara de 115 kr den kostar (i iTunes) då pengarna går till välgörande ändamål. Det är organisationen Red Hot Organization som står bakom samlingsskivan som är utgiven för att samla in pengar och höja medvetenheten kring HIV och AIDS.
